CIC Regathering Information

1.  Before Coming to Worship:

  • Worship Services

    • 9 a.m. – Outdoors in the church parking lot

    • 10:30 a.m. – Sanctuary

    • The liturgy at both services will be the same and blended in style.

    • Preregistration is no longer required as capacity is not limited.

    • On the day of worship, if you answer yes to any of the following questions, please stay home:

    • Have you had any of the following new/unexplained symptoms in the past 24 hours: temperature of 100.0F or higher, cough, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, body aches, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach?

    • Do you live with anyone who has received a positive COVID-19 test result within the past 14 days?

    • Do you live with anyone who has any of these symptoms or has been tested for COVID-19 and is waiting on a test result?

    • *If you are in any way feeling unwell, please stay at home.

 

2.   Arriving at Worship:

  • 9 a.m. Outdoors

    • While masks are not required outdoors, please continue to have a mask handy so that we can remain respectful of one another’s boundaries as well as caring for those who are ineligible for vaccination or are immunocompromised.

    • You may park and sit in or at your vehicle or park in the rear of the lot and bring your chair forward to sit in the blocked off front section.

    • ***In the case of inclement weather, the 9 a.m. service will move indoors with masks and distancing required for all participants. An announcement will be made through email and social media prior to the start of worship if this change will be necessary. If you are not comfortable worshiping indoors, please join the livestream at 10:30

    • a.m. If you are fully vaccinated and prefer not to wear a mask during worship, please attend the 10:30 a.m. service when this inclement weather plan is implemented.

  • 10:30 a.m. Indoors

    • Following the CDC’s guidance that fully vaccinated individuals can safely do most activities without wearing a mask or the need to social distance from others, fully vaccinated individuals may be present without wearing a mask during the duration of worship. Unvaccinated individuals, immunocompromised individuals, and those who continue to feel more comfortable wearing their masks should continue to wear masks. In addition, capacity at the service is no longer limited. Please be respectful of one another’s comfort levels both for masking and spacing.

    • The chairs are positioned in long rows and are no longer broken up for family units. You may sit wherever you would like while being mindful of other family units’ comfort levels.

    • There will be no nursery available.

 

  • 3.During Worship:

    • 9 a.m. Outdoors

    • If you are at a distance from others not in your family unit, you are welcome to sing along with hymns.

    • 10:30 a.m. Sanctuary

    • Congregational singing will resume beginning the first Sunday in July.

    • The liturgy continues to be abbreviated to be mindful of the time indoors with one another and is altered to limit communal speaking.

    • Sanctuary doors will remain open throughout before, during, and after worship.

    • Both

    • The passing of the peace is to be done by virtue of no physical touch (eye contact and slight bow, extension of the peace sign, etc).

    • Offering plates will only be touched by ushers/assistants.

    • Holy Communion will be distributed in pre-packaged containers. Worshippers will have communion brought to them.

 

  • 4.After Worship:

    • 9 a.m. Outdoors

    • Continue to be mindful of traffic while people are outside of vehicles.

    • 10:30 a.m. Sanctuary

    • You may exit out any doors.

    • Rows will no longer be dismissed by ushers.

    • The pastors will position themselves outdoors to greet parishioners.

    • If you test positive for Covid-19 within 48 hours of attending worship, please contact the church office.

    • Both

    • No fellowship hour or coffee time will be taking place.

 

  • 5.Additional Safety Precautions Taken Indoors:

    • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.

    • Removable screens are in place in the sanctuary doors to increase air flow.

    • The plexiglass for the speakers and musicians has been removed.

 

CIC cares about the wholistic well-being of every person who walks through its doors. The church is striving to keep the people who gather within our facilities as safe as possible. Anyone who gathers at CIC in person assumes all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. In attending worship services, you acknowledge your understanding of that risk as well as your necessary role in following protocols that are intended to keep our spaces as safe as possible for everyone in attendance.
