Stewardship
Grow as Stewards
rough Faith, Love and Hope!
“We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3
Dear Friends in Christ,
I’m excited to tell you about the stewardship program we will begin on All Saints Sunday, November 5th, called “Grow as stewards through faith, love and hope.” We will spend three weeks focusing on the themes from 1 Thessalonians and the work of the Holy Spirit who helps us grow in our following of Jesus as God’s stewards.
Each Sunday, we will focus on one of the virtues of faith, love and hope. I pray that each of you will take the opportunity to worship Christ, our chief steward, and to learn how God uses faith, love and hope to draw us closer to him and prompt us to action with our time, talents and treasures.
I believe our best days are still ahead of us and God has some incredible work for us to do. I’ve been amazed at what He’s doing and the spirit of joy that is being stirred up among us. Your church is taking a bold step this year to increase our giving to the ministries of the Lutheran church around the state, nation and the world by becoming a tithing congregation, one of our 5 year goals. We’ve grown our youth ministry with a new youth director and are growing the ministries to our children and youth. To support this work and more we will need an additional $80,000 in the coming year. We’re taking a big step of faith!
As we increase the ministry we do in Christ’s name I’m asking you to join us by giving your best gift of faith to our shared ministry in 2018. Maybe you’re ready to give the full tithe, 10% of your income to God’s ministry, maybe you can double your weekly gift or give 10% more than you did last year. Regardless of how much we give, my prayer is that we all give with faith, love and hope. Thank you for considering this request as you and the Lord work out together what your gift to this ministry will be.
Please bring the enclosed Commitment Form with you to church on Commitment Sunday, November 19th at 10am, or drop it off in the church by the 19th.
God’s blessings on your continued faithful stewardship of the many blessings he has entrusted to your care. Thank you for your support in the past and in the days to come.
Your fellow steward,
Pastor Travis
